Exciting Times!

It's been a really big week around here. I've been crazy with Circus Smirkus stuff. Lots of promotional things to sell tickets, then 4 shows. I'm glad it's over. I've been so crazy busy. It was a fund raiser for KidsPLAYce. We sold out the 2 evening shows and made a huge profit! Yippee!

BUT the best part for me came during Monday Night's show, when Signe was selected to go on stage during the show. I wasn't in the tent, but people came running to get me. I got to see all except about a minute of it. Signe was PRICELESS on stage. Her facial expressions were hilarious. Basically, Troy, the ringmaster, does some really amazing bubble tricks with the help of a child. I don't know if he picked Signe because he knew me and had seen her at the show site all day or if it was just coincidence. Either way it was delightful to see her on stage and made all the stress of running the show worth it.

Signe also had a big day on Saturday when she got go knee boarding with Dad for her first time. I guess it took a while to get her to go, but she really enjoyed it. We don't have pictures because I won't let Kent take my big camera near the water after he dropped the little one river rafting.

Finally on Tuesday, without warning, Signe decided to jump off the diving board. She has been quite cautious on the diving boards. During lessons, the swim teachers will lower them into the water with someone to catch them at the bottom and make sure they get to the edge of the pool. Last year Signe wouldn't even walk on the board. At the beginning of swim lessons 3 weeks ago, she'd walk out on the board, then walk back down. Last week, she let me lower her and Kent catch her during our evening parent & child class, but not the swim teachers. We've talking to her about doing a little more each time.

Then out of the blue yesterday, she let Kelsey lower her to Ali. I was at the kiddy pool and didn't see it. But one of the moms told me it had happened. We' re afraid to make too big a deal. The next time on the board she said she wanted to jump in and she did! All of the moms and teachers gave her a huge round of applause as it's a pretty big deal. Today she jumped in 3 times all by herself.

Awesome photos, Net! I love the ones of Signe at the Circus! What a great opportunity for her. And it's so fun seeing the girls at the pool. I'm glad they're enjoying their summer. And you'll have to get Kent one of those disposable waterproof cameras to use. Then it won't be so bad if he drops it in the water...;)

So I'm curious... you mention KidsPlayce every so often. Do you and Kent work there, own it, just like it?

Looks like Signe had a blast!
