It's wiggling!

Signe's first loose tooth! While eating lunch on Sunday, she said her tooth was hurting every time she took a bite. I asked her if her tooth was loose and she said no. But when I checked, it was wiggling just a tiny bit. She is SO excited! Mostly to go on the tooth fairy chart at school.

On Santa's Lap

We visited Santa on Saturday. The line wasn't very long and our wait less than an hour. This Santa is so great. He really takes time to talk with the kids. Both of them are so into it this year. It's terribly fun. Signe list is ever changing, though Anni's has stay the same - a Pat Pat Rocket.

Anni wasn't too sure about sitting on Santa's lap. She seemed quite skeptical the entire time she was up there. Like she knew it was what needed to be done, but she would rather be some place else.

Would you believe that both of the girls dropped their candy canes as they opened them? Luckily, Mrs. Claus gave us 2 more.

Did you notice Signe's outfit? She picked it out herself. It's all Christmas clothes. The shirt has holly leaves & berries, the jumper is a holiday pattern and the pants have snowflakes. She wanted to be as Christmasy as possible for Santa. How cute is that?!

Random things

I love the pilgrim & Indian hats they make at school each year. These are Anni's from this year. Kent's head was too big for the pilgrim hat.

Anni's Kelky was home for a week at Thanksgiving. Anni was so happy to see her. In this picture, Kelsey is painting Anni's nails. But what I really love about this picture is Anni's ladder. For quite some time now, this is Anni's chair. She eats dinner in it and stands at the counter on it. If I move it to reach something, she'll ask me why I moved her ladder. She really does think it's hers.












Looks what the squirrels did to our pumpkin. It was fine when we went into town, but a few hours later this is what we found. They got our neighbor's pumpkin too. This has never happened before!

Kitchen Helper

Lately, one of Anni's favorite things to do is help me cook dinner. Well, actually, her favorite thing to do is stir a pot of something. Doesn't she look cute in her little apron?

Six

already. Where does the time go? Signe's birthday was long lived. She opened gifts from us on her birthday morning and had cupcakes at school, but we didn't have birthday cake until the next day because Dad was gone until very late on the 12th. Then her party wasn't until the 23rd.













A six things about Signe at six:

1. She is an amazing reader. Reading at a 2nd grade level. But she would rather be read to than read aloud.
   
2. She loves stuffed animals and plays with them. There must be 25 in her bed. More keep getting added all the time. Soon there won't be any on her shelves.
3. She has an eclectic sense of style. (Wait for the pictures with Santa. I'll explain.) Though she is pretty easy going about what she'll wear.
4. She is a picky eater. Luckily, the stuff she likes to eat is pretty healthy. At school they have to taste whatever is served at snack. This has really helped find more things she likes.
5. She doesn't do anything very quickly.
   
6. She loves to draw and wants to be an illustrator when she grows up.

For her birthday, she wanted an Alvin & the Chipmonks party. Why does she always pick something that isn't in the stores? For a cake, I ordered a High School Musical cake because it had music notes on it. Then I cover the HSM image on the cd case with a Chipmonk image. I made party hats with the Chipmonk initials because I couldn't find plain hats. Is it really asking too much to have party stuff that isn't characters? I couldn't even find a pinata that wasn't a character or even just "Happy Birthday", so we had to make a pinata too. Sadly, it only lasted one whack. The kids didn't seem to mind too much. They really only want the candy.

Chipmunk Fever

It all started with a Christmas CD. We picked up the Alvin & the Chipmunks Christmas cd at Target at the beginning of November. Immediately, it came into heavy play rotation. Then we had to take from the house to the car, EVERY time we left the house. (We made a 2nd copy to leave in the car.) Then after a failed attempt to see Madagascar 2, we saw the new movie at the store with an Alvin beanie, which Signe got for her birthday. Thus cementing Chipmunk Fever in our house.

The girls like the movie, but mostly they LOVE the Christmas CD. It is the only thing they want to listen to in the car. Signe's birthday party was Chipmonk themed. And the stuffed Alvin is on Signe's list of favorite friends. Both of them can sing the words to most of the songs on the CD.

Smells like new car

Yep, we finally did it - bought a new car. We picked it up on November 1st. It's 2009 Subaru Forester in Sage green. I'm thrilled to have four doors and a CD player! It is so much easier to put kids in their car seats with four doors. We sold the Barbie car this weekend. Strangely, I was sad to see her go. She was a good car - never any trouble. Not that I want to drive her any more. It's just strange to not have her after 15 years. Shocking that I've had the same car for 15 years. We sold her to a college student who's Dad works with Kent.

I LOVE the new car - except that Signe's booster seat slides around on the leather seats. Which means, I have to buckle her in. And the door is too high for Anni to open on her own. Of course, they'll both grow so these problems are only temporary. Other wise it's fabulous!
