Halloween Fun

Here are my favorite trick or treaters. Signe is Ruff Ruffman, the host of the PBS show, Fletch. (He's a cartoon, though the show has real kids on it.) It's a very cool science show. I had to make her costume because there is nothing in the stores. Signe was very specific about his costume. She picked the colors & gave her input while I put it together. I made it out of fleece, so I didn't have to finish or hem any of the edges. It only took 3 hours to put together.

Anni was a little piggie and I got to be the Big Bad Wolf. She spent most of September very obsessed with the 3 Little Pigs. I feel like I've read it at lead a million times. This rear view is show you how cute their tails were. Signe's turned out especially well. Anni's tail got pretty beat up because she kept pulling it off. (Each of them got to wear their costumes 3 different times.) By Halloween Anni's tail was just clipped on.

I was able to borrow this hat from KidsPLAYce. It made being the Big Bad Wolf easy. I just had to make a tail. I attached a big bushy tail to my overalls, but you can see it in this pictures.

We trick or treated for the first time this year. We discovered that we have a small neighborhood that everyone goes to. It was just perfect. The houses weren't too far apart - an issue when you live in the country. It took about an hour to do the whole neighborhood. We saw lots of people we knew and Signe got to walk with one of her friends. Poor Signe is almost 6 & had never really got to go Trick or Treating. I so glad we finally figured this out.
